My Flower Bed Dreams

I actually like wearing jeans shorts in the winter (with leggings or black tights). They go good with almost any top and boots. In my wardrobe jeans shorts replace jeans which I don’t really like wearing. Not only because jeans are so obvious but also because I don’t consider them to be the most comfortable pants ever. Blue and black is one of my favourite combinations.

The Queen of the Geese

Can you feel fall is almost here? Summer passed by so quickly. It became colder already but I take every opportunity to walk my summer outfits out.

Today I was trying to make friends with the geese. I even shared Dasha’s pizza with them (so generous of me). I believe a human can understand all the other creatures. Not every human of course but I wish I was the one who can.

After we finished with the photoshoot, the geese made a roll call (I swear they were actually talking to each other), shot up, and flew away. Do you think they’ll miss me?

Olympics 2012 Excitement

I am a big fan of Olympic games! I remember watching them since I was 5 (maybe less) with my grandfather, he is such an emotional fan when it comes to cheering for team Russia. He would jump out of his armchair so frisky (at his 70!), scream out loud and then run to the kitchen to pour himself a shot of homemade alcoholic beverage for our team) I got his enthusiasm for watching Olympic games.

So far mostly impressed with our girls at Olympics in London.
Synchronized Swimming Duet of Natalia Ishchenko and Svetlana Romashina performing as dolls, made me hold my breath for 5 minuts). Russia takes gold medal home in synchronized swimming since Sydney in 2000, still I find their performance the most complex and unreal!
Watch for yourself:

The SS Team of 8 also took the gold, absolutely deserved it. The music they used Kalinka Malinka and some folk song makes me knock my slippers on the floor to it) Amazing job Girls! I would hug you all, so proud of you!

As for Gymnastics, Russian girls nailed it. Aliya Mustafina took gold, silver and bronze.

Evgeniya Kanaeva took gold for rhythmic gymnastics, she is absolutely stunning!

Darya Dmitrieva took silver. She got to Olympicts replacing for her teammate who had a foot injury, and won silver!

As per group Gymnastics, we took gold the 4th time in a row)
Girls you swept all Olympic golds.
Love Love Love
Our men also did spectacular job! Wrestling, Judo, Boxing got gold in each category. Volleyball team took gold)

Overall you all are champions in my eyes! Great results, a lot of courage and talent! See you in Sochi 2014 I am sure homeland will help our team to perform even better and hopefully I can finally go and watch Olympic games Live)

And here is me, pretending to sit at fans tribune) Got my thoughts on gymnastics, praying for our girls)

Go Team Gymnastics!!))

Love your Hair? Love Henna

Next time you decide to color your hair, try using Henna.

Henna (Lawsonia inermis) is a flowering plant used since antiquity to dye skin, hair, fingernails, leather and wool
Henna has been used as a cosmetic hair dye for 6,000 years. In Ancient Egypt, Cleopatra and Nefertiti were known to have used it.

The color that results from dying with henna can fall into a broad spectrum, from auburn, to orange, to deep burgundy, chestnut brown or deep blue-black.

The color will vary according to your natural or previously dyed hair color and freshness of the henna.

Henna is a real natural cure for  porous, dry, damaged or overly permed hair. After henna hair looks thicker, shinier and overall more healthy.Henna also protects hair from environmental hazards.

The magic process of hair dying with Henna:
Wear gloves before you start!
Put Henna powder into a non-metal container(metal may chemically interact with the henna and ruin the dye)such as glass or ceramic bowl.

Then add hot water (not boiling water)and stir with a non-metal tool, like plastic or wooden spatula. The texture has to be not too liquid and not to solid, somewhat like a paste.

Once dissolved, henna is spread onto clean, dry hair.(If you get Henna on your skin wash it off). The hair should then be covered with disposable plastic wrap(plastic bag will do) to hold in the heat and moisture, which help the dye to activate (wrap a towel on top of plastic to keep even more warmth). Henna typically requires at least four hours of processing time before it is washed out. Do not use shampoo when washing out, use conditioner instead, it will take some time before you get all henna out of your hair, be patient,re use conditioner and rinse with cool water.

Once hair is dyed with henna, the color will gradually fade with every wash, but it will do so slowly.

Important, some people have allergy for Henna, so do a patch test on the skin before using henna.

P.S Don't know where to get good quality Henna in Toronto? Just ask)

Chocolate Wrap

Today we are going to do a  chocolate body wrap, including exfoliation with home made coffee scrub and finishing with cocoa cream and massage!

Don't drink alcohol and don't use another intoxicators 48 hours prior the treatment.
Drink enough water as the treatment may cause dehydration.  At least have a glass of water after the treatment.

Cocoa beans have a very rich biochemical composition: each bean contains more then 800 molecules with hydrating, regenerating and revitalizing properties. Cocao is a source of mineral salts, iron, magnesium, phosphorus, potassium, calcium vitamins and proteins. It contains active agents such as polyphenols, which are very powerful anti-oxidants, flavonoids, which effectively protect blood vessels,  and theobromine and caffeine, which are great stimulants.

Cocoa is a very effective anti-cellulite substance and helps to reduce water retention and the "orange peel" effect appearance on the skin.

We are using caffeine scrub for exfoliation as a first step, since caffeine works to increase blood flow and stimulate adipocytes to release fat into the bloodstream so it can be burned by body's metabolism. In simple terms Caffeine helps to drain body's fat cells. Also, Caffeine tightens and tones the skin, helping to reduce the appearance of cellulite. When applied topically it works as a lipolitic agent, breaking down the fat tissue and causing localized weight loss.

There are a lot of ways to make caffeine scrub at home. For today's treat we are going to need:
1. Grounded coffee beans
2. Coconut oil (Marina loves it, so we will use it on her. I consider my client's preferences:). Also can use Sweet Almond oil, Grapeseed oil, Mineral oil, Olive oil or honey.
3. Essential oil Cinnamon, which helps to strengthen and tonify relaxed tissues. Also can use Grapefruit, Juniper, Rosemary, Bergamot and Cypress. I think cinnamon makes the best combination with coffee.

Mix approximately 100g of grounded coffee with coconut oil.

Then add 8-10 drops of cinnamon oil to the mixture.

Apply scrub in circular motions. (Before application I prefer to leave a hot towel on the skin to open up the pores).
Scrub for about 5-10 minutes.
Then wipe residue with warm towel.

For home care i suggest to use scrub 2-3 times a week. It can be stored in the fridge.

For the wrap we are using Dolci Belezze (Sweet Beauty) chocolate cream, made in Italy. Active ingredients include: Caffeine, Ehinacea, Algae Spirulina. Professional product sold through salons/aestheticians only. Great product, (I love) smells like chocolate works like miracle) I also add a few drops of concentrated tonifying synergy, which will help to firm the skin even more.

Apply chocolate cream on the skin.
Then wrap with plastic film.

Put towel around to keep heat in, and for 30 minutes I leave my tasty-chocolate Marina to perspire)

After 30 minutes I remove residue cream with warm towel. Apply Dolci Belezze Cocoa cream with heating effect to skin, and massage it in.

Marina: I'm dieting permanently, and don't exersise as much as I have to. It causes loss of muscle mass and turns me into a fat-skinny. That's why massage and a nice toning wrap are so beneficial for me. It helps to tone the muscles and reduce cellulite.

Treatment has contraindications and precautions.
