50 Shades of Grey

Today is the shortest day of the year. I’ve hardly seen any sunlight for last couple of weeks.  The first snow of this winter hides in shame wishing to disappear. It is definitely not that off white thick covering we all expected.

Right before Christmas I’m all in flirty skirts and colourful jumpers (it is under my jacket. Show you next time) hoping they will brighten up my holidays.

Feels Like Christmas

The weather has been very gloomy lately. Everything is grey and colorless. We are stuck in the middle. No sunlight, no snow. We’ve been waiting for a good day to take some pictures like forever.

I’m not a person who is excited to see the first snow though. Frankly speaking, wintertime is tough for me. Just don’t find anything good in it. Except for those magical windless nights when fluffy snowflakes fall slowly and quietly covering the ground with thick puffy blanket. I’d look at them from my window, dream and make wishes. It makes such a peaceful feeling as if you are a child again.

However, we found  some snow at Yorkdale Mall. They actually did an amazing job with all these trees, deers, bears, owls and huge fancy Santa’s sleigh. The most wonderful thing is that you can walk around only wearing a sweater.  And you don’t need mittens to play with it. I was wearing a pair just for fun.

Casual Autumn

This season Ive decided to cut a fair amount of non-skinny jeans to shorts, pair them with cozy leg warmers and plaid shirts. Got my Timberland boots to keep me warm and comfy.

Iam very dependable on my mood when it comes to outfits, especially in winter. I hate bristly, scratchy, choking clothing. I get annoyed and can only think of how to get them off sooner. Therefore, acrylic, synthetic, polyester...etc is a no-no for me)When its "minus" weather what felt itchy or chocky before feels million times worse.
I love you Cotton!)

Getting Cozy

Soft cozy sweaters, knit leggings, legwarmers, slouchy over knee socks, pom pom beanies, mittens and faux fur vests are my favourite pieces of fall/winter wardrobe. I think I'm addicted to buying winter socks and leggings. Somehow they appear mysteriously inspiring for me. I'm that kind of person who picks a coat to match the socks.

In order to keep myself warm I always do the layering: modal (my latest fabric passion) or cotton underneath and wool or cashmere on top. Don't ever think acrylic sweater will keep you warm even though it looks reliably chunky. Eventually thin wool sweater is warmer than thick acrylic one.

In this outfit I couldn't make my choice between knit ikat print skirt and wool plaid shorts. I just love them both (unfortunately can't wear them at the same time)). Which pairing  do you think is better?

Deadly Fall

Fall. Months of dead desert forests with remnants of life. It is a transition state of nature and the same state of mind.

Fall is coffee with cinnamon, maple leaves, warm, soft buns with vanilla and subtle smell of smoke ...

Fall is to fall in love with something that was invented, but it never came true.

In the fall, along with fallen leaves, we will surely lose someone ...
